No, the Turtle is Not Dead, ©Jarrett Scott Gladstone, 2019
While McSweeny humorously parodied my hastily prepared online course, I cannot take full credit for its creation. Years ago I was the family’s alpha-geek (𝜶-geek). However as years pass by and technology advances even faster than I can keep up, I no longer criticize my past elders who never could figure out how to program a microwave oven. I get where they were coming from back in those days. One advantage of the coronavirus crisis is being home with my son, Jarrett, who has also been staying at home because his schools were and are closed. Jarrett assembled my first pages in this site during his last months in high school (I’m curious about what his classmates will have to say when they reflect on their graduation year when they meet at their tenth reunion). Today he is a college freshman at my doctoral alma mater 9yay, legacy!), so he is now my technical advisor as I manage this site on my own.
Even with his help, I now understand and appreciate why my parents constantly asked me to reset the VCR clock every spring and fall.
The lecture material are mine, and references are either direct links to outside websites are given proper academic credit. However, much of the early page design and construction are all Jarrett Gladstone’s work. As are some of his original copyrighted photographs. If you like the page design and need a page designer with time on his hands, Jarrett will likely be happy to work out an agreement with you. If you like his pictures, he would be eager to work on commission if you have a photo mission for him. Of course, his dad is a business professor, so it’s expected he will negotiate (barter) a fair deal for you and him.
